RAIL commuters are feeling the brunt of striking Southern rail drivers today – the worst set of industrial action for more than 20 years.

More than one million journeys are expected to be hit by the strikes, scheduled for today, Wednesday and Friday 16 December.

Around 300,000 passengers travel on the 2,242 Southern services each day but there will be virtually no trains on any of the strike days.

Rail passengers have been advised not to travel amid the chaos of the strikes.
