The adorable four-year-old who dreams of becoming a soldier has been reunited with the Coldstream Guard who made his day at Windsor Castle.
Marshall Scott was celebrating his birthday last Wednesday – dressed as a small guardsman – when Lance Corporal Paul Edden posed for a photo with him.
Footage of the boy from Slough, Berkshire, performing a salute went viral – and he made his first TV appearance today as he marched with LCpl Edden
Joke: Kay Burley pretended to offer Marshall Scott a handshake before pulling away her arm
Smiles: Burley eventually shook Marshall’s hand and laughed as they finished the interview
But viewers were not so impressed by Sky News presenter Kay Burley after she pretended to offer him a handshake before jokingly pulling away her arm.
Marshall performed a march with LCpl Edden across the studio in London and admitted he was a ‘bit slow’, but added: ‘I know how to do everything.’
His mother Imogen Scott said: ‘He loves it, he watches videos online and practises at home all the time. You loved it (Marshall), didn’t you?
‘He hides round outside the door and he says “tell me, what’s that noise” and you have to say “what’s that noise” and he says “it’s the soldiers marching in” and he marches in the room.’
LCpl Edden revealed he was expecting a baby of his own and said he told his fellow guards that he thought it was a ‘nice little treat for a lad’.

Signal: Marshall used his fingers to tell Burley during the interview that he is four years old
Some viewers took to Twitter to say they were not impressed by Burley’s joke handshake
He continued: ‘It’s not the normal sort of thing we tend to do, but… it’s nice to see the support we’ve had off the public and around the world.’
But speaking about Burley thumbing her nose, Ben Glaze tweeted: ‘Can’t believe Kay Burley just did the shaking-hand trick on a four-year-old on live TV!’
And Evelyn Gardener tweeted the presenter to say: ‘Bit rude to that gorgeous little boy, thumbing your nose instead of shaking his hand.’
However others praised her interview – with Labour MP Chris Leslie describing Marshall’s salute on camera as the ‘best TV moment of the day’.
After the video went viral last week, Ms Scott said: ‘He is very patriotic and says the Queen is ‘lovely and beautiful’.
Popular: Marshall was a hit with tourists at Windsor Castle, as dozens lined up to have a photo
‘He wanted to visit the castle for his birthday but just had no idea what would happen. We are so overwhelmed and thankful for everything.’
The original video was taken by tourist Joanna Feng, who just happened to have been videoing the marching guardsman at Windsor Castle.
When the guardsman stopped marching, LCpl Edden turned around to pose with Marshall, who was wearing a red guardsman uniform.
He was also serenaded by a group of girls visiting Winsdor Castle, who sang happy birthday to him.
The Facebook page of the Coldstream Guards said: ‘We have a spot reserved for him at the Army Foundation College Harrogate for the March 2029 intake.’
